Ian Fennimore holds a M.Arch II from the Southern California Institute of Architecture and B.Arch from Florida Atlantic University. Building from his undergraduate studies focusing on language and tectonic expressions, Ian's time at SCI-Arc formed the foundation of his techniques and aesthetic frameworks. His graduate thesis project focused on the role of marginal affect and immediacy of architectural communication to develop a critique of the discipline's incessant desire for stability and duration as well as the capacities for work to deliver earnest solutions towards sustainable or more ethical futures.
Currently, Ian is teaching studios and seminars at Florida Atlantic University and working in South Florida. Ian's work has been awarded through various organizations and institutions including SCI-Arc’s Graduate Thesis Merit Prize, AIA Pasadena’s Jean Roth Driskel Scholarship, SCI-Arc Bone & Merit Scholarship, FAU Undergraduate Thesis Prize, Multiple Senior Level Design Awards and AIA Fort Lauderdale’s Merit Scholarships.
